The surface treatment of plastic mould
Mould surface treatment is systematic engineering to change the morphology, chemical composition, structure, and stress state of die surface by surface coating, surface modification, or composite treatment technology to obtain the required surface performance.
From the way of surface treatment, it can be divided into chemical methods, physical methods physical-chemical methods, and mechanical methods. Although new treatment techniques are emerging to improve the surface properties of molds, carburizing, nitriding, and hardening film deposition are widely used in mold manufacturing.
The purpose of die carburizing is to improve the overall strength and toughness of the die, that is, the working surface of the die has high strength and wear resistance. The technical idea introduced is to use lower materials, that is, carburizing and quenching to replace higher materials, so as to reduce the manufacturing cost.
The nitriding process has gas nitriding, ion nitriding, liquid nitriding, and other ways. In each nitriding method, there are several nitriding techniques, which can adapt to the requirements of different steel types and different workpieces. Because nitriding technology can form a surface with excellent performance, and nitriding process and die steel quenching process has good coordination, at the same time, nitriding temperature after low nitriding without intense cooling, mold deformation is minimal, so the mold surface strengthening is the use of nitriding technology earlier, is the most widely used.
At present, the mature sclerosing film deposition techniques are CVD and PVD. In order to increase the bonding strength of membrane workpiece surface, various enhanced CVD, 'PVI) technologies have been developed. Sclerosing film deposition technology was first used in tools (tools, cutting tools, measuring tools, etc.), the effect is excellent, a variety of tools have been coated with sclerosing film as a standard process. The die has been coated with hardener film since the 1980s. Under the current technical conditions, sclerosing film deposition technology (mainly equipment) costs more, still only in some precision, long-life mold application, if the way to establish a heat treatment center, the cost of coating sclerosing film will be greatly reduced, more molds if the use of this technology, can be improved as a whole.
